Reading Buddies

Tuesday was the first time we had the opportunity to participate in the reading buddy partnership between LCE and SPE. The students were excited to meet their first grade buddies! During this first meeting, the buddies were introduced to each other, completed a get to know you activity, and the third graders read to the first graders. This is going to be a wonderful opportunity to build a stronger community between the two schools!

Missouri's 8 border states

On Thursday we learned about the states surrounding Missouri. I found a fun song that is to the tune of "London Bridges" to help them remember the surrounding states. They did a great job singing it!

Mrs.G visits

Thank you Mrs. G for coming to Room 6 to teach us about multiplication. The students had a great time getting up and moving around to learn some new multiplication strategies!

Fall Party

Thank you to everyone who helped with the Fall Party! We appreciate all the parents who came and everyone who put time into planning our party. Everyone had a blast!

Monster Mash

Today we started our Monster activity! The students had to draw and create a monster, but they were directed not to show anyone. Then, they were paired with a partner and had to describe how to draw their monster using only their words. They learned how important it was to be specific and use adjectives!

We missed you Mrs. Simmons!

We missed Mrs. Simmons last Friday, so we decided to send her a picture so she wouldn't forget about us!

JASIRI party!

Congratulations to our Jasiri friends on winning the most house points first quarter! We hope you had a great time at the party. LCE is looking forward to seeing who will win the most house points next semester!
